Sarah Morkos started her career at Walker Parking Consultants in 2012 as a Design Architect. Nearing her five-year anniversary with Walker, Sarah has been involved in the architectural design of parking structures, parking consulting, as well as the restoration of structures. Sarah’s recent projects include an overseas consulting project for a major cultural center located in Saudi Arabia, including concept level design and master planning for a 1000 space parking structure; architectural design for the Johnson and Whales 750-space parking structure in Providence, RI; architectural design for the City of Dover 360-space parking structure; parking consulting on the garage at the Landmark Center in Boston; and redesign of a pedestrian plaza at one of the City’s Hospitals. Recently, Sarah presented a webinar for the Green Parking Council as well as at the New England Parking Council Annual Parking & Transportation conference. Sarah presented “Bicycle Commuting and the Parking Nightmare”, which covered different components of bicycle commuting and how to keep pace with today’s commuting patterns in parking structure designs. Sarah is developing bicycle parking standards and solutions to be incorporated in the design of parking structures as cities and towns face higher demands for bicycle storage.
